DRAMA & THEATRE

When St. Joseph’s College Trincomalee, is mentioned, two things spring to our minds. One is Football and the other one is, with out doubt, Drama! Our college is well known for its outstanding performances in Drama and Theatre for ages. In the last decade, Tamil Poetic dramas staged by our college showed history engraving achievements. The interest and involvement showed by our teachers, Mrs. Rani Jegasothy, Mrs. Marie Jesudasan and Rev.Bro. Lenuch and the enthusiasm displayed by our boys enabled us to succeed in this field. Recently, Mr. S. Vilvaratnam, a famous Tamil poet and Mr. Philip Murugaiya, an old boy and member of the staff of our college have contributed  much leading the college to National Championships. It will be a failure if we forget to mention the role of Mr. Leo Justin and his son Mr. Jonny Justin in music direction for all the dramas which annexed championships.
